GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST

This movie I'm giving it a 9.5 out of 10. I think it's near perfect. The storyline especially, the cast as well. I'm glad I watched it at Iluma today with b. I teared quite a few times because it was so touching!

Ghosts of GFs Past

Took a short break from work and caught it in the noon hours. Iluma's theatre isn't too bad and the passageway is pretty nice looking too. It's my first time watching a movie there.

This story is about a guy who's been hurt in love before, hence became a cassanova. It reminded me of a friend whom I know who became just exactly like the male lead Mead (Matthew McConaughey). He's been hurt in love not once but quite a few times, which came to a point he just see girls as fun. This is quite sad actually. However I'm glad he's now with a girlfriend whom he's been with for a couple of years.

However, when I asked him if he loves his gf because lately he's having trouble in his relationship, he didn't answer me. I guess love is subjective. However he's willing to give up on the relationship because of his career. This again leads me to think, does he really love his gf? Or maybe he's with her but have never learnt how to let go of the past?

I'm sure alot of us out there have been hurt in love, hurt by your love before. Does it make sense then, for people who've been hurt in love before to give less to the next partner you have?

My answer is no. Each person is different. Otherwise don't go into a relationship because in the process, you may just hurt somebody who give him/her all.

I've learnt that and will make sure not to fall into that again, no matter how great the pain can be. Because we must all learn from the bad things in life to make us a stronger person. Only then life will be colourful. You bring along all the memories you have or had and when you think back, it should make you smile.

Still, many people will tell me, "Oh, I'm afraid of the pain."

Isn't that what love is all about? To experience the kind of feeling which I have no idea how to describe, probably magical is the word to use and the pain that comes with it is the risk of feeling the esctasy. There is nothing in this world that is so amazing other than love.

In the story, Mead would breakup with girls after making them fall in love with him. Or maybe they think they're in love with him. All he wanted was a no strings attached, casual one night stand affair. Nothing more. In the process he might've hurt some girls though in the show most were portrayed as bitches, but ya, in real life, he might have made an inoncent girl fall for him.

So tell me again, do you know how to love somebody? When do you know if you actually love someone?

Will the realisation only come when the person whom you kiss and hug decide to leave and only regret kicks in? Will you regret if you never tell them how much you love them and they're gone from your life, forever?

To love, as least to me, it means no lies, alot of affection, special, honesty, trust, care, generousity, understanding, sweet, patient, kind, loves my family, spending time with my family..... I can't think of anymore as yet. When we talk about unconditional, does all of that add up to unconditional? Maybe yes, maybe no.

Love is a weird thing sometimes.
